Translation proposal

Women on the Train I’m looking for a translator to translate one of my novels, either The Sixth Man or The Woman on the Train, from English to German or French.

Both novels are set in Occupied France during the Second World War. TWotT is 27,700 words long; TSM about 53,000 words.

I’ll be honest – I can’t afford the usual translator rate of about €0.09 per word, as that’d work out at about €2,500 for TWotT and a lot more for TSM.

Instead, I’m offering a royalty-sharing model, based on the model offered by Babelcube.com but, in the longer-term, more generous (and without the need to pay Babelcube their 15 per cent). I’m offering the translator 50 per cent of all revenue for life (or at least until my demise!)

Both novels sell at a steady rate on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk (especially The Sixth Man) and hopefully could sell equally well in Germany or France. But of course there’s no guarantee.

If you want to know more about the novels, you can read an extract of TWotT here and TSM here.

If you want to know more detail about this proposal, contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Rupert.
